Ramy Youssef will host the next “Saturday Night Live” episode, airing on March 30, with Travis Scott as the musical guest. This announcement was made during the March 9 “SNL” episode, which was hosted by Josh Brolin with Ariana Grande as the musical guest.

Youssef’s upcoming HBO comedy special, “Ramy Youssef: More Feelings,” debuts on March 23.

This season has included a slew of hosts — some controversial. While the March 2 episode saw Sydney Sweeney in her hosting debut and musical guest Kacey Musgraves, the women followed Shane Gillis — the comedian who was fired from “SNL” in 2019 due to racist, homophobic, Islamophobic and misogynistic jokes he made on his podcast and other media.

After these comments resurfaced on social media, a spokesperson on behalf of executive producer Lorne Michaels said at the time, “We want ‘SNL’ to have a variety of voices and points of view within the show, and we hired Shane on the strength of his talent as a comedian and his impressive audition for ‘SNL.’ We were not aware of his prior remarks that have surfaced over the past few days. The language he used is offensive, hurtful and unacceptable. We are sorry that we did not see these clips earlier, and that our vetting process was not up to our standard.”

Gillis and 21 Savage followed host Ayo Edebiri and musical guest Jennifer Lopez, who appeared in the Feb. 3 episode. During Edebiri’s episode, “SNL” was criticized for bringing out Nikki Haley. In the cold opening, Edebiri posed a pointed question: “I was just curious, what would you say was the main cause of the civil war? And do you think it starts with an S and ends with a ‘lavery’?” Haley responded, “Yeah, I probably should have said that the first time.”

Other hosts this season have included Dakota Johnson, Jacob Elordi, Emma Stone, Jason Momoa, Pete Davidson, Bad Bunny, Nate Bargatze and Timothee Chalamet, with musical guests Justin Timberlake, Renee Rapp, Ice Spice, the Foo Fighters and Boygenius. Bad Bunny tackled both hosting and performing duties during his episode. This season has also included a number of surprise appearances including Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce, Rachel McAdams, Lady Gaga, Mick Jagger and Pedro Pascal.
