Oscar-nominated actors Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell are set to star in “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey,” which will be produced by Imperative Entertainment and financed by 30West. “Pachinko” and “After Yang” director Kogonada will direct the script, penned by “The Menu” writer Seth Reiss.

Kogonada, Ilene Feldman and Original Films’ Ori Eisen are executive producing, while Imperative Entertainment’s Dan Friedkin, Bradley Thomas and Ryan Friedkin will produce, along with Reiss and Youree Henley.

Major plot details of the film, which shoots this spring in California, haven’t yet been revealed. The movie is described as an imaginative tale of two strangers and the unbelievable journey that connects them.

The film marks Robbie’s first major project since the runaway success of “Barbie.” She is a 2024 Oscar nominee for the movie, which she produced through her company LuckyChap Entertainment. Meanwhile, the project will see Farrell reunite with Kogonada, who previously directed him in 2021’s “After Yang” alongside Jodie Turner-Smith.

Robbie is repped by CAA, Entertainment 360, attorney Jeff Bernstein, Aran Michael Management and Narrative. Farrell is repped by CAA, managers Ilene Feldman and Claudine Farrell, attorney Steve Warren and Kovert Creative. Kogonada is repped by WME, Ilene Feldman Management and attorneys Daniel Passman and Tara Kole.

Imperative Entertainment most recently was behind the 10-time Oscar-nominated film “Killers of the Flower Moon,” which the company developed and produced over the past seven years; the Emmy-nominated limited series “Black Bird”; and “Triangle of Sadness.”

Upcoming projects include Apple’s new anticipated drama series “Moth to Flame,” starring Taron Egerton and the feature film “The Wager,” which will be directed by Martin Scorsese and star Leonardo DiCaprio.

CAA Media Finance and 30WEST represent the film’s worldwide distribution rights.

Deadline was first to report the news.
