Gypsy Rose Blanchard will continue to chronicle her life, now as a free woman, in a new Lifetime docuseries.

Following “The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard,” the network has greenlit a series that will follow her life from the days right before her release from prison on Dec. 28. Produced by Category 6 Media, part of the A+E Factual Studios group, the new show will debut later this year.

“As a victim of Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy, Gypsy was abused for years by her mother and has lived her entire life in one prison or another… until now,” the official press release says. “The series follows Gypsy as she experiences life as a free woman, including finally living with her husband Ryan Anderson for the first time.”

In 2015, Blanchard was convicted of second-degree murder for the killing of her mother Dee Dee Blanchard, a murder she planned with then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn. Godejohn, who stabbed Dee Dee 17 times, was charged with first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole; Gypsy made parole and was released after serving eight years of her 10-year sentence.

The new show will include a “revealing look” at Gypsy’s day-to-day life, as she navigates relationships today and her newfound fame.

“In this delayed-coming-of-age story, Gypsy must reconcile the pop-culture, celebrity version of herself while trying to forge her brand-new identity in a ‘normal’ world as wife, sister, daughter and most of all — a free woman,” the release says.

“Millions have followed Gypsy’s story and are invested in seeing what is in store for her next,” says Lifetime EVP and head of programming Elaine Frontain Bryant. “After a lifetime of trauma and serving her time, we are all rooting for Gypsy to embrace all that life has to offer and become the woman she always wanted to be.”

The original six-hour special, which aired last month, reached 9.8 million viewers.

Sharon Scott, Laura Fleury, Leane Vandeman, Melissa Moore, Brie Miranda and Nicole Vogel are executive producing.
