Zazie Beetz and Jack Quaid will announce the nominees for the 96th Oscars ceremony on Tuesday, Jan. 23. The live presentation will commence at 5:30 a.m. PT from the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater. It will stream live on Oscar.com and Oscar.org in addition to the Academy’s TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. ABC’s “Good Morning America” and “ABC News Live” will also air the nominations.

Variety’s senior awards editor Clayton Davis predicts “American Fiction,” “Anatomy of a Fall,” “Barbie,” “The Holdovers,” “Killers of the Flower Moon,” “Maestro,” “Oppenheimer,” “Past Lives,” “Poor Things” and “The Zone of Interest” as the predicted best picture nominations. At the Golden Globes, “Oppenheimer” won in the drama category, while “Poor Things” won for musical or comedy. “Oppenheimer” also led the BAFTA Film Awards with 13 nominations, followed closely by “Poor Things” with 11 nods.

Davis’ predicted nominations for best actor include Bradley Cooper (“Maestro”), Colman Domingo (“Rustin”), Paul Giamatti (“The Holdovers”), Cillian Murphy (“Oppenheimer”) and Jeffrey Wright (“American Fiction”). Murphy won the Golden Globe for actor in a drama, while Giamatti took home the prize for actor in a musical or comedy.

Lily Gladstone (“Killers of the Flower Moon”), Sandra Hüller (“Anatomy of a Fall”), Carey Mulligan (“Maestro”), Margot Robbie (“Barbie”) and Emma Stone (“Poor Things”) comprise Davis’ list of predicted nominees for best actress. Gladstone won the actress in a drama prize at the Golden Globes, with Stone winning in the musical or comedy category.

Jimmy Kimmel will return to host the 2024 Oscars, marking his fourth time hosting the ceremony. The 96th Oscars will be held at the Dolby Theatre on March 10, with the show airing on ABC.
